Anyone who witnessed the commentary will always remember it. His good friend and ex-team mate Rob Warner almost in tears. Fellow commentators screaming in the background as the realization sank in. Peaty had done it. UCI Downhill World Champion 2009. Cue the beers and tears.

So what else is left to do for the most successful rider in downhill World Cup history?

Re-signing to the Santa Cruz Syndicate certainly showed his intent. He's hungry for more. 2010 sees Steve back enjoying his racing and riding at his best, pushing to break even more records along the way.

But the latest announcement from the UK's most popular mountain biker is set to really start racers' hearts pumping right across the country.

If you are a DH racer or wannabe racer of any age and you want the opportunity to shine in a pro set up headed up by our very own World Champion, now is your chance.

The Steve Peat Syndicate has now been launched and offers you a pro level programme to really raise your standard of riding as well as letting you enjoy the benefits of a professional set up backed by some of the biggest names in mountain biking.

The full support package includes the all conquering Santa Cruz V10 bike, two sets of SPS custom Royal race kit including team jerseys, 661 helmet and pads and weekend training camps with Peaty and other top World Cup riders.

At the races, team members will also have the full support of a pit space and paddock area complete with Mercedes Sprinter team van, awnings and chill out areas along with a team mechanic to help keep you on track and the mechanicals at bay.

Wherever possible, Steve will also be on hand to walk the tracks with you before a race – his own race schedule allowing of course – and will offer you all the advice and experience he has gained in his 18 years of top level racing.

"I've been keen to do this for a few years now" said Steve, who has long been known for helping younger riders, such as World Cup stars Josh Bryceland and Brendan Fairclough, progress through the ranks.

"SPS gives riders of all ages the ability to improve their riding with full pro level support and advice as well as have loads of fun along the way" he added.

"The fun element is a key part of SPS. We ride bikes, it's meant to be fun. But when the goggles and helmet go on, it's race time, it's serious. We'll help make you better and hopefully see you progress as far as you want to go".

Places on the team are limited so don't hang around if you fancy emulating Peaty and riding like a pro with some of the very best gear available to World Cup racers. Find out more and get in touch with the Steve Peat Syndicate today at www.stevepeatsyndicate.com
